The Key Action 2 of the ERASMUS+ program is entitled: “COOPERATION FOR THE INNOVATION and THE EXCHANGE OF GOOD PRACTICES”

This action aims to foster opportunities for cooperation and exchange of good practices between companies and teaching organizations to modernize and strengthen the education, training and youth sector.

The Key Action 2 is intended for the development of the education sector, training and youth through five main activities:

  1. Promote strategic partnerships within the field of the education, training and youth.
  2. Promote knowledge alliances.
  3. Sector skills alliances
  4. Capacity building (higher education)
  5. Capacity building (youth)

This week, we are going to dedicate the post to the last three opportunities of key action 2 of the program. All the information about the two first opportunities can be found in the previous post.

  1. Sector skills alliances

What is it?

Sector skills alliances aim to address skills through an adaptation of vocational training (VT) systems to the needs of the labor market. It is done by:

  • The modernization of VT thanks to the adaptation of the competencies´ needs and by the integration of apprenticeship at work.
  • The consolidation of knowledge and good practices exchanges
  • The improvement of the mobility in the labor market
  • The improvement of the qualifications appreciation

Among all these actions, priority is given to specific objectives such as the  improvement of competencies and educational level, to quality drive, to innovation and internationalization promotion, to the development and modernization of education, to the improvement of the international dimension of education and apprenticeship, and finally, to the improvement of apprenticeship and language teaching.

What kind of activities?

These partnerships offer opportunities to manage a project with the objectives mentioned above. This means:

  • A definition of the needs of skills or training in a specific economic sector
  • A development of linked programs

Such activities should embrace sectors with clear imbalances such as the manufacturing and engineering sector, Commerce, technologies of information and communication, environmental technologies, cultural and creative sectors, health, and tourism.

To whom is it addressed?

Partnerships for competencies per sector should be composed of a consortium of organizations from three countries belonging to the program at least. Each of these types of entities to be included in the set might be:eramus para quien

  • Public or private entities providing VT
  • Public or private entities with specific knowledge in a sector
  • Public or private entities which have a regulation function in educational and systems

Applications have to be submitted in accordance with the annual calls for proposals the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency.

  1. Capacity building in the higher education field

Here we are dealing with transnational projects based on multilateral association agreements between high education institutions from countries of the program or associated.

What is it?

These projects aim at helping admissible associated countries for:

  • desarrollo de capacitades en educacion superiorThe modernization, internationalization and facilitation of the high education access
  • The approach of the challenges that higher education systems and institutions are facing
  • The increase of collaboration with the EU
  • The coincidence with the EU development about higher education
  • The promotion of contact between people, the intercultural awareness-rising and comprehension

What kind of activities?

 The possibility to increase cooperation through actions is offered to higher education institutions from admissible associated countries, aiming at:

  • Increasing the high education quality and its adaptation to labor market needs, so as the level of knowledge in high education institutions with new educational programs
  • Increasing the level of knowledge, strengthening management ability, the innovation and internationalization

The possibilities are implemented through activities such as the plan of study development and relationships consolidation between higher education and the social and economic areas.

To whom is it addressed?

Participants have to be part of an organizations consortium. If the projects are done in an associated country, this consortium has to be composed of three countries of the program, as of:eramus para quien

  • High education institution of each participant country from the program at least
  • Three high education institutions from the associated country at least
  • The same number of institutions from associated countries as countries in the program

What duration and budget?

cuanto tiempo y qué presupuestoThese projects have three years duration with between 500,000 and a million of Euros subvention. Applications should be submitted online under one of the annual calls for proposals published by the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency.

  1. Capacity building in the field of youth

What is it?

The aims of the development of these capacities are:

  • Exchanges and cooperation between countries of the program and associated
  • Improvement of the work quality and recognition in the youth field
  • Improvement of mobility and informal apprenticeship programs impulse
  • Transnational mobility promotion in the informal apprenticeship

These capacities embrace different activities such as: the promotion of strategic cooperation between youth organizations, public authorities and in the labor world, creation of new formation models

What kind of opportunities?

Standard development of skills projects are offered in order to increase organizations capacity and mobility opportunity for:

  • Impulse dialog about politics, cooperation, network creation and exchange of good practices
  • Organization of youth events at large scale (of a maximum of two days)
  • Awareness-rising and information campaigns organization
  • Development of information and communication tools

To who is it addressed?

eramus para quienOrganizations being part of consortium of at least three organizations, of three different countries, among which one has to be one of the program and the other one has to be an admissible associated country.

What duration?

Project duration is of between nine months and two years

ERASMUS + charter

The European Commission has launched a new call for proposals for “ERASMUS +”: call erasmus+ KA2. The allocated budget from the European Commission will depend on the scholarships awarded and duration of projects and the number of partners involved being end of proposals the date February 15, 2017.
